Hello all! I am attempting to translate a few books from Italian to English for my own use. As I come upon difficult passages, I hope to use the community to help give me a better understanding of their meaning. I plan to post each of the passages to this thread (to avoid starting multiple threads) as I go so this may be a bit of a "living" thread. Please check back from time to time if you are in a helpful mood!
First passage seems to indicate a fight during the 1940 advance into Egypt but the details are not clear (at least Google translate doesn't make them clear). I much appreciate any help!

5 Nov the battalion breaks the encirclement of a 2ªLibyan Div. column. 19 Nov sent again to help a 2ºLibyan column, it was saved but the battalion looses 5 tank and several other are damaged.
I can't translate this part for me it doesn't make sense.

Thanks Dili! Seems like a lot of words to say very little! Google translate gets the following for "impegno soverchianti forze corazzate italiani appiedati": "overwhelming commitment Italian armored forces stranded". That seems a bit odd but it may mean something like "the full committment of the Maletti Group (armored) battalions were required to break the encirclement of the 2nd Libyan Div. column".
