At the beginning of September the division deployed in the southern sector of the El Alamein line as part of the X Corps (together with the 17th Infantry Division “Pavia”) and was reorganized as follows :

Tactical Group  “Ruspoli”  (7th and 8th Battalions)

Tactical Group  “Bechi”  (2nd and 4th Battalions)

Tactical Group  “Camosso”  (9th and 10th Battalions)

Tactical Group  “Tantillo”  (5th and 6th Battalions)

  1. Interesting and deepened article,
    my father was a soldier of Folgore and captured in El Alamein the 9th of november 1942 and imprisoned in
    British camp 309 and 305 located in Egypt.
    I should like to have more informations about these camps and some suggestions in order to contact the right authority (British Army, Red Cross, others)

    Thank you in advance for eventual tips.
