Posts I've Made
07 May 2013 - 07:08 PMHello, and thanks so much for sending the link to that article. It does say that there was an embroidered version for the Duce Guards that was made but never issued. I guess my question is, was there an EMBROIDERED mostrine with the "M" on it BEFORE the 1943 armistice that was issued to regular "M" battalion members? Were they for enlisted men or officers? And Jeff, there was a pair on eBay Italy recently...they look original, and based on what the seller was asking, they'd better be! Here's the link
20 July 2012 - 07:44 PMdoes the officer tent use the standard pole sections? if so, that's a LOT! of sections, over 30, I'd guess.
Hi Scott, honestly its a complete mystery to me. For the purposes of living history encampments, my buddy and I are making some poles and painting them a grigio verde color. We've already done this to use the shelter halves to make a tent fly that blocks the sun, and it has worked well.
19 July 2012 - 11:37 PMI figured out the whole email thing, now my replies will be more timely!
19 July 2012 - 11:34 PMThanks guys. My buddy and I have the shelter quarters, we just need to get some poles made and well be ready to go.
19 July 2012 - 11:26 PMMany thanks to all who replied...funny, the forum used to let me know via email when someone replied to it, but hasn't been. I'll try to sort that out.
