Being of Italian heritage, I take an interest in the Italian army of WWII, and also anything having to do with the war. However, my grandfather fought in the Italian army during WWII, and he's told some great stories, though he tried to leave out the bloody parts, since I was only a little boy when he told me his stories. However, he showed me his uniform and his helmet and his old rifle. He also collected British pistols from his combat in Libya. From what I can remember, he would always say that his division and the hwole army would fight valantly against teh british, but they did not particularly believe in Mussolini's ideas, and did not view the Allies as evil. He also said he feared the Germans more than anyone else.

I've the heard the same stories as well about how valiently we fought the british and how we didnt see the allies as evil. Whenever rided on in school for "Italian cowardicey" these stories from real soldiers who fought there are always good to fall back on and to bring up to defend ourselves

Mostly because I need to know about the subject for my World War II studies. I value accuracy.

It's an interesting subject.
