I don't quite understand the latest log-in situation; it seems convoluted.

Why doesn't the first login stick?

We are aware of that issue and are currently attempting to resolve it. The problem is that main site is on a wordpress format and the forum is on an IPBoards format. The two formats do not recognize each other when it comes to members and logins. We have 2 ways to fix this:

1. Troubleshoot our current bridge between the formats and see why they are not recognizing each other.

2. Switch to a wordpress friendly board that will recognize the login.

Grazie Tanto!

It's enough to hear that someone is looking at it (BTW, I've since discovered that going directly to the Forums may short-circuit the immediate problem).

Has anyone else had log in difficulties recently?

I have had to submit new passwords on each of the occassions that I have visited the site since Jim's departure.
Cheers; Dave.

Hello Davis, Right now some integration programming is being completed which has led to some login issues. That should be resolved during the next few days. Please let me know if the problem continues after Wednesday. Thanks.

Frederick

It also logged me out mid browse, and promptly forgot my new password!

But I will ignore all of this unless it is still happening on Thursday.
Cheers; Dave.

Please try to login again. It has been tested and it seems to be working fine now. Let me know.

Nope.

Doesn't recognise me, nor has it remembered my password.
Cheers; Dave.

The passwords have now been unified for all the parts of the website. If you have multiple passwords and or emails for WP and the Forum please try logging in with the alternative. That might be the issue.

I just tested resetting the password in the Wordpress and Forum sides and both times it worked fine. If the problem continues for you please explain where you are trying to reset. You are doing it with the username "david", right? If you you are not doing it from the start page (Wordpress) try it there as the process is easier because you can choose a new password directly rather than having to go back into the profile. Thanks.

The forum did not automatically sign me in again this morning, nor had it remembered my password. But I had the password to hand this time, so I was able to sign in, but it's still a pain in the *rse!

I have one username, one password & one e-mail address.
Cheers; Dave.

It will be necessary for you to log in one time when you enter the site however you should not be asked to sign in more often. Is this happening? When you say that it did not remember your password do you mean that the password you had didn't work and you had to create a new one or that your browser did not remember it? Thanks.

Frederick.

I have to log in once each time I visit the site.

I never used to have to do this, as the site was programed to recognise me and my details each visit. What has changed and why?
This is the only Forum where I have this problem, all the others I belong to work fine, just like this one used to. It would seem that the "Remember me" feature is not working.

The password works each time and does not have to be changed. I don't think that my browser is at fault because I don't have this problem on any other forum or any other site where a password is required.

I hope that this reply gives you sufficient detail as to be able to cure the problem.

Best wishes,
David Wormell.
Cheers; Dave.

Thank you for the information David. I hadn't understood that there was an automatic login function. I have passed the info on to the programmer and hope that it will be resolved quickly. The big roll-out is a little behind schedule however things are coming together. Thanks for you patience.

Regards,
Frederick

No problem. I should have explained myself more clearly perhaps.

Also, the new content feature is not working, as it always tells me there is no new content on the forum since my last visit, when there has been.
Cheers; Dave.

Nope, false hope.

It logged me out whilst I was browsing through old forum posts.
I had to log back in, and it had no idea who I was, sio having remembered me and my password for a while, it has now forgotten me again!
Cheers; Dave.
