Jeff, add the Armoured Regiment to the Divisione corazzata A.S. 42 , it must have been lost in some cut-and-paste (or destroyed in transit by the Perfidious Albionics :) ).

Jeff.

Within the Libyan divisions you have shown no Brixias, no heavy mortars, no Solothurn and no 65/17.
Can you confirm that this is correct, and that there are no ommissions?

Thanks.
Cheers; Dave.

Arturo

Thanks! I have found editing in Wordpress can be frustrating. Half the time I must work in the HMTL code.

David

Yes, the totals given are taken directly from l’esercito italiano tra la 1° e la 2° guerra Mondiale. Brixia, 65/17, etc. are listed for other units, so I don't believe this is an oversight. I did a quick check of the Libyan OB in Dec 40 and the 65/17 were reinforcing the division. No Solothurn are listed for any units, but I believe that was a wartime addition and not TO&E. They are listed as part of the A.S. 42 structure.

Pista!

That's what i have too. No mortars, 65.
What is interesting is that there are 5 mortars in Allegato in 2ª Libica Divisione in 01June1940, but since it includes the non divisional troops it might belong to other unit - maybe an independent Libyan battalion. Now what would be the unit or units with 5 mortars?

I have added a new discussion of the planned changes in 1941. David R. made a comment on AHF about whether divisions impletement the 1941 changes. That set me checking sources. That checking led me into another area. All is now in the article.

More to be added.

Pista!

Great work Jeff!

Any plans to look at the structure of the re-formed Libyan Battalions?

Best wishes,

David.
Cheers; Dave.

David

I wish I could. Battalion and below organizations need to be documented. I lack the primary sources to take on such a task at this time. As you have noticed in my article, citing sources is important. If I can't cite a source, then I am not comfortable in stating 'something'. It is important to me that others can check my work.

Right now I am trying to find the source for the trucks removed from Trento. I know I have read it before, but I haven't found the statement in my current search. I know it happened.

I am not comfortable with my sources for the tank regiment/battalion organizations. I wish I had some better sources.

I would like someone to write an article that documents regimant/battalion/company organizations. I would certainly help. It can be a group project on Comando Supremo.

Pista!

Jeff

Jeff,

I did not mean to add to your already growing workload, I was just wondering if you had enough info to attempt the task some when in the future.

I agree wholeheartedly with your approach in always being able to cite sources. You should end up with a definative work to be righteously proud of.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for all that you have done already.

best wishes,
David.
Cheers; Dave.
