The 2012 St Joe Beach landing will have both a Pacific and Mediterranean Landing. This is a two-day event which combines a tactical landing scenario and a public display.
Details are few at this time. The campsite and display area is at the Benton Harbor airfield and the landings will be done on Lake Michigan at a public park located in St. Joseph. I am assuming that Saturday will be the Pacific event while Sunday is the Med. The Med landing is Sicily, with all participating groups representing appropriate units.
The Monte Cervino will be attending as the divisione fanteria Livorno. This was the Italian division in reserve behind the frontline coastal units. The division launched several counterattacks during the day, normally under heavy enemy naval gunfire.
We currently have four Italian reenactors signing up for the event. Any/all are welcome to join us.

My apologies in not responding sooner. Excellent news. I believe that Chris has spoken with you. Have you decided on an impression?

I have been attempting to learn the schedule of actviities at St Joe.
RE: Schedule. It appears (but I am not certain) that both landings are on Saturday. The PTO is in the morning and the MTO is in the afternoon.
RE: Uniforms. I am still trying to determine which uniforms were worn in Sicily. The uniforme da fatica was certainly worn, as was the g-v. I am trying to determine if the coloniale is an option.
No website up as of yet. More as I know it.

Jeff,
Interesting on the schedule of events. I hope there is a time laps between the battles. I have been on wwii reenacting boards and inquired about also doing the Marine landings. I was told to bring my kit as they would have a need for 'Real' Marines, I guess.
If it is still ok with you, I would like to bring along my Marine kit and now with the schedule.....if it doesn't conflict with the MTO landing, I would sure like to participate in the PTO landings.

No issues with me. In fact I encourage it. Opportunities such as a beach landing don't happen often. Please take advantage of it.
I have started the process of setting my Breda 30 up for gas. I am not sure I can make it work. Unfortunately the small size of the receiver is a challenge and I still want the weapon for display. I will see.
