Hello,

when Italy administered Montenegro during 1941-3 various armies / militias were formed.

Does anyone know if they were uniformed? any photos ?

National army of Montenegro formed Feb 1942

Montenegrin natinal troops formed Dec 1943.

Different pro-Axis militias were formed in the Balkans... For example the Domobranci (nationalists) and the Bela Garda ("white" catholics and anticommunists) in Slovenia, the MVAC (Milizie Volontarie AntiComuniste - Volounteer AntiCommunist Militias) in Dalmatia, Slovenia and elsewhere and the Albanian nationalist militias of Kossovo on the former Albanian-Serbian border. These ones to omit others and the more known Ustascias in Croatia and General Nedic's units in Serbia.
All this pro-Italy militias had a mix of Italian and former Yugoslavian uniforms or etnic/tribal dresses, except the MVACs which as regular volounteers corps in the Italian army wore the Italian uniform with particular insinia, like a particular kind of fez (cap) with a skull and tricolor cockade.
