NEXT ITALIAN EVENT: The Desert Battle and Spring Camp Roberts events have been swapped around, which should provide us with cooler desert event temperatures, and the Camp Roberts event (in April) with dryer ground conditions for the vehicles to maneuver in. The California Historical Group 2012 DESERT BATTLE is now only 3 months away, set for the weekend of March 23rd to 25th. The rough terrain, dramatic changes in temperature, along with the unusual mix of desert uniforms and units make the annual desert battle on the edge of the Mojave Desert a unique experience. Come join the troops of Rommel, Montey, Patton, DeGaule and General Messe as the units of Patton’s 2nd Corp, the British 8th Army, the Australians, the Free French Legion, the British Long Range Desert Group, the Afrika Korps, LW Ramnke Brigade, Italian Bersaglieri and Italian Folgore Paratroopers, German and U.S. hospital units…….along with some Arab brigons and camel traders and participate in the final struggles for North Africa. The Italian unit did an outstanding job at the last desert event in September! This year should be bigger and better….and not as Warm!
