How does one get hold of Italian service records.
My great-grandfather was killed during WWI and my grandfather was one of those captured in Sicily in 1943.
I would love to get copies of their service records.
Does anyone know how it can be done.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Joe

Re your relative who fell in WWI I suggest you contacting:
Commissariato Generale Onoranze Caduti in Guerra
Ministero Della Difesa
Piazza Luigi Sturzo 23/27
00144 Rome
ITALY
Tel: (00 39 6) 59 13 907 Fax: (00 39 6) 59 24 645
Re the other one, you should try the Assoc. of the unit he belonged to, or the enlistment office of his province.
Good Luck,
Gianmaria
