Remo

Glad to have you on the forum! if you are having problerms posting pictures, e-mail me at home. I can post the pics for you.

I am VERY happy with my WWI boots. The only thing that distinguishes them from the WWII infantry boots are the quick-laces and hobnailing; both of which normally won't be seen. I am only waiting for an opportunity to wear them.

Now I am also interested in a pair of Alpini boots to go along with my socks......... :D

Serge

Nice boots. Are these the ones I saw on E-bay a few eeks ago. If so, I thought about bidding, but they started to get too pricey for me. After all, I have my SE boots that I can wear.

Hey Jeff,
Nope, One of the forum members e-mailed me the pics (Thanks Pasta) a few months ago and I've been holding on to it waiting for "the one" who would make them for us and it seems that we've found it. These would be PERFECT for any Alpini/Gebirgsjager impression... I didn't know there was a set on Ebay? What did they go for? Stay tuned and cross your fingers!

IFG's Latest Web Page Promotional Offer and.....a Question!

Postby Gregorio » Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:09 am

Hello All,

Yesterday I came across IFG's latest web page promotional offer:

"New Year promotion: your unifom package deal is ready by the time estimated or it's free! Ask for details."

You know...the devil is always in the details.

I currently have the following outlined pending order with IFG:

M-40 Wool Overcoat @ 365.00/E, Status unknown.

Set of Bersaglieri Tunic Collar Tabs @ 35.00/E, Status: Was told by Sal at our event they were completed but forgotten at home.

2 Sets of Soldato Celto Rank Bars @ 40.00/E, Status: Was told by Sal at our event they were completed but forgotten at home.

2 Pairs of M-1912 Italian Boots @ 400.00/E, Status: Was told by Sal at our event they were in tied up in customs in Ireland as of 04/05 (12 Months Ago) and would be shipped soon.

The order also included 50.00/E of prepaid shipping. I have not been contacted. or had any of my e-mail inquiries answered for about a year now. All of these items were paid for Up-front. In Italics is the last status of each item communicated to me by this vender. All were originally ordered on July 3, 2004...22 months ago.

My questions are:

1) With this kind of service....isn't Salvatore going to be supplying a lot of Free uniform packages to a lot of people , or is he just going to be collecting A LOT OF MONEY for very expensive uniform package deals form a lot of people?

2) How can IFG get these new orders done...when they (He) still has these really, really, really OLD orders to do?

This is all of course academic, but just for fun.......if anyone else has a PENDING order with IFG that they know they will never see.......fell free to add it on here. You could maybe help save someone else some money in the future.

Gregorio

P.S. As a side note......after our desert EVENT with Sal....he had left a pair of his shoes here in the States, and he also requested that I return to him his flag he domnated to our unit. I mailed them back to him at my own expense. In return, Sal borrowed from me a nice minty Beretta M-34 holster, along with a spare Beretta ammo magazine during the event. They wound up going home with him........last time I saw the holster, it was hanging on a new IFG tunic in a photo on the IFG web page.

Another sad story

Hi, my name is Brian and I to sent money to IFG using my credit card for a complete Italian kit. I did not receive all of the items and some of the garments did not fit correctly. After he made accusations of theft towards me there was no further communication. I then sent my claim into the credit card company and did receive a partial reimbursement. I strongly recommend if you want to avoid headache, hassle, insults and accusations, avoid IFG.

All I can say is stay away. As he hasn't keep his word to deliver items on time, nor sent-out his back-log, there is little chance he will keep his promise of refunds. I hope everyone is spreading the word that IFG is once again trying to rip people off.

Hmm, what i find interesting is his statement that you receive your order in a year or your money back and items are free. He's setting himself up for a fall, as if he doesn't do this, and refuses to pay up, he will have no legal standing. He has blazed a statement across his website declaring this, and any default on his part will be seen as false advertising, and will be prosecuted for such. Laws in Europe differ a little from the rest of the world, but this one stands, and i think, so does summonsing a small claim order against him (Anything under £200). Go on his guestbook and demand a refund..... see how quickly he erases the messages!!!

The million dollar question STILL is and has been debated in this forum for years is HOW does he get AWAY with it and HOW is he still in any business? If this was done in the states, the Feds would've shut him down a long time ago......Hmmmm.... Nine lives maybe?

I too am waiting for some hats that were paid for (a year and a half ago). That's nothing compared to the time some people here have had though. He insists the hats are done and he will post them with the next batch of packages we're sending out. They are practically in your hands(this last quote is verbatum!!!)"yeah right".That was in January.

I thought I'd put my two cents in on IFG. He ripped me off too. I never received my order and when I asked him about it he went nuts. Stay away from IFG. The guy is a psycho and I'm glad to see other vendors now.

hi, sorry to bring up an old topic, but does anybody know what happend to Jacopo at http://www.wwii-militaria.com ? He told me he was switching to a new website, but that appears to be an invalid address as well. I loved his items, and I know he still had a full inventory, so I was wondering, did he in fact go out of business?

Thanks,
Chris

This is his new site:
http://www.trialce.com/
But there are no items yet and not much is going on.
Iacopo kinda stopped his bussiness for a while. He's pretty busy with repairing an old country house he recently bought.
