The two most used were the Mod.35 and the Mod.40, both shoulder mounted flamethrowers.
The Mod.35: This flamethrower weighed approximately 27 kg, and had 12 kg of incendiary liquid and 6 liters of propellant. Range was about 20 meters, and the area of coverage was of 35×15 meters. About 20 “salvos” could be fired.
The Mod.40: About the same as the Mod.35 but was started with an electric turbine.
I created Comando Supremo: Italy at War in 2000 because of the the limited amount of information on Italian forces in WWII that was available online. Thanks to people like you, this site has grown to what it is today. Thank you for visiting and please bookmark the site!
